On February 19, President of the Artsakh Republic Bako Sahakyan participated in a meeting of the diocesan council of the Artsakh See of the Armenian Apostolic Church held in Shushi.

The primate of the Artsakh diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church Archbishop Pargev Martirosyan briefed the meeting participants about the activities carried out in 2010 and plans for the year 2011.

The President noted strengthening of the church-society relations to be among the key factors in harmonious development of the society. The importance of intensifying army-church relations was stressed.

Chairman of the National Assembly Ashot Ghoulyan, defense minister of the Republic of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan and other officials attended the meeting, Central Information Department at Artsakh President’ Office reported.
