Head of the Political Studies Department at the Caucasus Institute Sergey Minasyan said that the visit of U.S. Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg and U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Philip Gordon is aimed to discuss regional issues presenting interest for the U.S.

Minasyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter that in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan the American diplomats will refer to settlement of conflicts, situation in Iran as well as relations between the South Caucasus countries.

“Specifically, the Karabakh conflict settlement, Armenian-Turkish relations, as well as Armenian-American relations will be most likely discussed in Armenia,” he concluded.
