Karabakh people faced many challenges to gain the right to self-determination

On February 21, the Armenian embassy in Russia hosted an event dedicated to the 23rd anniversary of the February 20, 1988, historical decision on Nagorno Karabakh’s unification with Armenia that was adopted during an extraordinary session of Nagorno Karabakh Autonomous Oblast (NKAO) People's Deputies.

Employees of the embassy and NKR Representation, as well as media representatives participated in the event.

Armenian Ambassador to Russia Oleg Yesayan noted that it was a far-reaching decision, as the people of Karabakh declared that day that they want to be independent on their own land and reunify with the motherland. Later the Karabakh and Armenian people had to face many challenges in their support of Nagorno Karabakh’s right to self-determination.
