Expert: Karabakh process artificial intensification fraught with negative consequences

Board chairman of Analytical Center on Globalization and Regional Cooperation Stepan Grigoryan said that attempts to artificially intensify the process of the Karabakh conflict settlement are fraught with negative consequences.

The recent visit of the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State and Russian Deputy Foreign Minister to Yerevan and the upcoming trilateral meeting between the Armenian, Azerbaijani and Russian Presidents contain elements of artificial intensification of the process, Grigoryan told a press conference in Yerevan.

“The Karabakh process is being artificially intensified,” the political analyst said.

According to Grigoryan, the parties still do not trust each other. “Armenia and Azerbaijan are still far from signing a peace agreement,” he said.
