Law on free economic zones in Armenia to be adopted soon, expert says

Member of the Armenian parliament, Chairman of the RA NA Standing Committee on Financial, Credit and Budgetary Affairs Gagik Minasyan said that the Law on Free Economic Zones in Armenia will be adopted until the end of the NA current session.

The law will facilitate export of agricultural products, contributing to development of Armenia’s agriculture, Minasyan told journalists on March 4.

He added that the government will continue providing assistance to rural cooperatives. Specifically, due to a loan allocated by the Japanese government, 61 units of agricultural machinery will be provided to them.

“Unfortunately, separate farms are not competitive in both internal and external markets,” Minasyan concluded.
