David Nalbandian gets off to successful start at Davis Cup

David Nalbandian defeated Adrian Ungur 6-3, 6-2, 5-7, 6-4 on Friday, March 4 to give Argentina a 1-0 lead over Romania in the first round of the Davis Cup.

Nalbandian broke Ungur decisively in the eighth game of the first set.

The Argentine won the second just as easily. Ungur rallied to win the third, but Nalbandian imposed himself in the fourth set despite nursing a groin injury.

In the second singles, Juan Monaco was scheduled to face Victor Hanescu, AP reports.
