Twitter app for iPhone and iPad gets new options

Twitter updated its official iPhone and iPad apps, offering improved photo options, auto-link shortening and the ability to easily follow friends via the contacts in your address book, the official Twitter blog announced.

Twitter for iPhone gained a new feature called the Quick Bar. The Quick Bar is a way to quickly browse through trending topics at the top of the timeline.

Now Twitter for iOS has the ability to quickly and easily attach photos to tweets. Users can switch between the front and rear-facing camera of their iPhone, preview photos before choosing what to attach and then click to a camera button in the new tweet toolbar. Twitter will upload the photo to the image host you have set in your preferences.

Also, there is a new tweet box design and new direct message.
