Armenia, Latvia to open embassies in Riga and Yerevan

On March 9, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan left for an official visit to Latvia at the invitation of Latvian President Valdis Zatlers.

The Presidents held talks behind the closed doors that were followed by an expanded meeting with participation of the two countries’ delegations.

Sargsyan and Zatlers noted that the political dialogue between the two countries has become active. The two countries boost also cultural and educational ties.

Referring to agreements reached during the visit of Zatlers to Armenia in 2009, the parties noted that some of them have been already implemented.

Establishment of embassies in Yerevan and Riga was discussed during the meeting as well.
