On March 9, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan said he visits Latvia for the first time in the capacity of Armenia’s President.

The Armenian-Latvian relations and outlooks for their development were in the focus of the meeting with Latvian President Valdis Zatlers, Sargsyan told a joint press conference with Zatlers.

The Presidents share the opinion that the two countries have great opportunities for cooperation. “We promised to use the favorable conditions, including those for establishment of legal-contractual basis and launching Yerevan-Riga regular flight,” said Sargsyan.

The Armenian and Latvian foreign ministers signed a document on collaboration in the field of integration into Europe. Besides, the two countries’ ministers of culture signed an agreement on cooperation for three years.
