Erdogan’s oncoming visit to Moscow timed to Treaty of Moscow 90th anniversary

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev will hold talks with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and take part in a meeting of the Russian-Turkish High-Level Cooperation Council on March 15-16, the Kremlin’s press service reported.

Erdogan’s visit to Moscow is timed to the 90th anniversary of the friendship agreement between the two countries.

The Treaty of Moscow or Treaty of Brotherhood was a friendship treaty between the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) under the leadership of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk and Bolshevist Russia under the leadership of Vladimir Lenn, signed on March 16, 1921. As a result of the agreement, Armenia was left with an area of 29 000 sq. km.
