RPA: opposition should point out to problems but not destabilize the country

The Armenian authorities do not meet the ultimatums and demands of various opposition leaders and groups but do their work to resolve the social and economic problems existing in the country, said a member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA).

“The role of the opposition is to point out to problems but not to destabilize the country,” Hamlet Harutyunyan told a news conference in Yerevan.

Harutyunyan said he would respect and accept an opposition which sets forth objective demands instead of using the social and economic problems to cause instability and come to power.

“Both government and people will benefit from a civilized dialogue between the authorities and opposition,” he added.
