Head of IAEA refuses to visit devastated Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan

The head of the U.N. atomic watchdog on Friday, March 18 said he would not be visiting the site of the devastated Fukushima nuclear plant on his current trip to Japan.

Yukiya Amano, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency, told reporters that a team of scientists would go in the direction of the plant to conduct investigations, but he was not sure how near they would go due to the radiation, Reuters reported.
