Russian political analyst, Vice President of the Strategic Development Modeling Center Grigory Trofimchuk said that Azerbaijan needs more influential allies than Turkey to unleash a war with Armenia.

"Azerbaijan is not a suicide, thus it will never resort to it alone. Speaking theoretically, one can make up his mind only if he is supported by rather influential allies. Meanwhile, the level of such a country, as Turkey, apparently is not enough," Trofimchuk said in an interview with Novosti-Azerbaijan news agency.

He went on saying: "And in such case, specifically on the background of the August events in South Ossetia, there is a problem - what if they decide to abandon at the most improper moment?"

According to Trofimchuk, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is in a rather difficult situation - if one makes several statements about use of force, he needs to apply it in the third time; otherwise the statements will no longer be treated seriously. Trofimchuk said that, possibly, Azerbaijan needs to introduce some new theses in information space to draw increased international attention towards Baku.

He also noted that spontaneity, provocation may lead to a catastrophe, while it is the most dangerous and, simultaneously, the most probable scenario for war resumption.

At the same time Trofimchuk said it is possible that a reason for the Karabakh war resumption may be found by some third countries.
