Azerbaijan considers sending peacemakers to Libya, MP says

Azerbaijani parliamentarian, deputy head of Ana Veten party Zahid Oruc stated that Azerbaijan considers sending peacemakers to Libya.

However, he noted, “we see no immediate necessity for it.” “Military activities in Libya will, most probably, be short-lived, terminating in change of Gaddafi regime,” Oruc said.

The Azerbaijani parliamentarian stressed the recovery of Libya's infrastructure, much injured by NATO attacks and riots in the country, as the first priority. As he noted, Azerbaijan will send its peacemaking forces “to help the fraternal Libyan people.”

Oruc believes democracy building in the country will be a lengthy process. He blames Gaddafi for allowing the realization of a sinister design of western states, instead of opting for peaceful negotiations with his people, Salam News reported.
