Cooperation between Armenia and Iran is a record of friendship, tolerance, mutual respect and cultural dialogue, Armenian President said.

“I am glad to be in Tehran during the celebrations of Nowruz. Our friendship is an example of cooperation and mutual enrichment of Christian and Islamic civilizations,” Serzh Sargsyan said in Tehran.

Drawing parallels between the Easter and Nowruz, President Sargsyan said, “Painted eggs and sprouted wheat laid at Armenian Easter table symbolize eternity and revival of the nature,” he said. “These are links of a common chain which had been forming between Armenia, Iran and other countries of the region. These links transformed into firm partner relations after Armenia regained independence.”
