Almost all of Armenian government institutions use pirated Microsoft programs

Armenia is the second after Georgia in the list of CIS states for the use of pirated Microsoft programs.

As the lawyer of Business Software Alliance in Armenia, Narine Mkrtchyan told a news conference in Yerevan, the licensed software is used only by the Ministries of Justice and Education, while others are using pirated production.

As Ms. Mkrtchyan noted, a progress in use of licensed software in business sector was reported, with about 70% of banks and 100% of enterprises using licensed Microsoft programs.

The lawyer urged the government and business companies to use licensed programs to secure themselves against technical problems and hacker attacks.

Doxx Computers, Bever Computers and Fine are listed the fist among the stores selling computers with licensed programs installed. Arscomp, HASH Computers and Gayane start the list of outsiders.

Business Software Alliance is a trade organization working with international governments to advance the goals of the software industry and their hardware partners.
