Turkey seeks to resolve Armenian Genocide issue by 2015

In, 2015 we aim to summarize the results of work accomplished, and signal a start for a new policy, Turkish Foreign Minister stated.

At Istanbul-hosted conference, titled On the Way to Great Turkey, Ahmet Davutoglu said the year 2015 will see the 100th anniversary of Canakkale battle and the “1915 events.”

“To those who’re undecided as to their view of Turkish history where “Armenian issue” is concerned, the 2015 will become a “year of confrontation”. Ankara’s geopolitical aims include uniting with neighboring countries and region, destroying existing psychological barriers, clarifying historic issues, uniting economies and securing high level political dialogue,” Davutoglu said.

“Turkey must enter a new century with its issues resolved. The county will no longer satisfy itself with regional presence only,” Sabah quoted the Foreign Minister as saying.
