On April 1, Georgia’s newly appointed Ambassador to Armenia Tengiz Sharmanashvili handed over his credentials to Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

Mr. Sarsgyan congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment and wished success in his diplomatic mission in Armenia.

He noted that the Armenian-Georgian relations are boosted through active mutual visits.

After Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili’s visit, the country’s Prime Minister also arrived in Armenia. Recently, the Georgian Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure was in Armenia as well, and ministers of foreign affairs and defense are expected to arrive in April.

For his part, the Armenian Minister of Science and Education was in Georgia.

“In my opinion, the process will continue and any ambassador should be excited at such mutual visits. Despite our good relations, there is a great potential for boosting and developing the bilateral ties. Our goal is to develop this potential,” said Sargsyan.

For his part, the Ambassador said he will do his utmost to boost the good neighborly relations between the two peoples and states, the RA presidential press service reported.
