Restoration of normal relations between Israel and Turkey is important not only for the two states but also for stability and peace in the entire region, according to one of the leaders of Turkey’s Republican People's Party (CHP).

“Good relations with Israel will help us regain the weight we used to have in Middle East,” Osman Kotaturk said.

According to former Turkish ambassador to the U.S. Faruk Lopoplu, Turkey should mend relations with Israel to regain influence in the region. “Turkey should re-orient its policy to make it realistic and aimed at cooperation with all nations,” he said, MIGnews.com reported.
