The National Art Gallery of Armenia will exhibit one of Yervand Kochar’s three-dimensional works from April 6 to May 6.

The unnamed painting, created by Kochar in 1927 on steel, glass and mirror, was in Galerie Le Minotaure (Minotaur gallery in Paris) from 2005, before which it had been a part of Patrice Trigano’s private collection for 30 years.

The work’s exhibition is organized by High Art center of Yerevan and Director of Galerie Le Minotaure Benoit Sapiro.

Yervand Kochar (1899-1979) is a founder of three-dimensional painting. He lived in Paris in 1923-1936, while his works were featured in Sacre du Printepms and Van Leer exposition halls.

Along with other prominent artists, he participated in Panorama de l'Art contemporain exhibition in 1929 in Paris. In 1936, he moved to Armenia, where he created his famous statues of Sasuntsi Davit and Vardan Mamikonian, as well as a range of other works.
