Recent outbreaks in Arab world are not to be generalized, the riots being consequences of different problems, the director of Caucasus Institute stated.

At a news conference in Yerevan, Alexander Iskandaryan characterized the Egyptian outbreaks as social riots, outbreaks in Yemen as contradictions between northern and southern parts of the country.

Bahrain issue, the expert said, was caused by problems between Shiite majority and Sunni elite; Libyan uprising is a result of ethic clashes. As the expert noted, the events above are only joined by a unified information space.

Diaspora expert Eduard Melkonyan, in turn, pointed out that the national minorities become the main victims of such outbreaks. He supported Armenia’s neutral position on the situation with Egypt.
