Once started, there’s no stopping Azeri thirst for arming

In 2011, the Azerbaijani State Defense Order program has envisaged a 4,7% increase in military production volumes. The program stipulated for creation of 107 types of weapons.

Along with the active arming, Azeri authorizes have launched a sniper training program for school kids, who, in case of a new Azeri-started war, are meant as cannon fodder. To train future suicide attackers, Baku acquired sniper rifles and simulators from Moscow.

Meanwhile, the international community is turning a blind eye to active arming of Azerbaijan, only responding to particularly outrageous statements, like recent threats of shooting down Karabakh-bound civilian planes.

One could infer that the loyal treatment the international community lavishes on Baku will drastically change once Baku’s function as an oil vendor comes to an end.

However, the international community is probably aware that Aliyev, true to unpublished agreements, won’t dare start a new war, as in this case, the fate of the leaders of Arab syndrome-infected countries might befall him.
