Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen says his new biography "Idea Man: A Memoir by the Cofounder of Microsoft" is not supposed to stick the knife into Bill Gates.

In an interview with "60 Minutes," Allen said that his book was not a hatchet job on Gates, and is instead meant to serve as a record of what happened.

Allen said that he and Gates have not discussed the contents of the book in person yet, and that when that time came it would likely be "a heated discussion." Part of the book recounts how while Allen was suffering from cancer, Gates conspired with Steve Ballmer to dilute his ownership.

This culminated in a deal in the early '80s where Gates tried to buy him out for five dollars a share. However Allen told the program that Gates visited him several times during his second bout with cancer, and that the two remained friends.

He said that there's a bond between Gates and him that can't be denied, and he thinks they both feel it, according to Fudzilla.
