Iran’s balanced position exemplary for region

Iran’s position on the Nagorno Karabakh conflict proves that even in the period of collisions of civilizations peaceful co-existence of states practicing different religions is possible, Armenia’s military attaché to Russia said.

“I’m glad that relations between Armenia and Iran are friendly and the recent visit of RA President Serzh Sargsyan helped strengthen the ties,” Tigran Avanesyan said, emphasizing that through the efforts of the Iranian government three Armenian churches were included in the UNESCO World Heritage list. “Armenia, for its part, preserves the Blue Mosque as a historical monument,” he said, IRNA reports.
