Turkish choral society with Armenian singers nominated for 2012 Nobel Peace Prize

Antakya Civilizations Choral Society, which comprises people from various national minorities, including Armenians of Turkey, has been nominated for the 2012 Nobel Peace Prize by a number of the world's select individuals and institutions.

Yılmaz Ozfırat, president of the Antakya Civilizations Choral Society, said the choral society includes people from different ethnic, professional and religious backgrounds.

The Choral Society performs both Turkish and Armenian folk songs, Zaman paper reported, Zapan reported.

The Nobel Peace Prize has been awarded since 1901. It is awarded to both individuals, as well as organizations can be
