Today Turkey stronger than 20 years ago, French expert says

French expert at Strategic Studies Foundation, analyst Gaids Minasian said the Turkish authorities will allow organizing events to commemorate the Armenian Genocide in some cities. They will renew their suggestion on "opening national archives and creating a joint commission, leaving the history to historians."

"And based on these starting points, Turkey will do its utmost to prevent adoption of the law on criminalization of the Armenian Genocide denial by the French Senate.

Besides, Ankara will monitor closely the statements of Barack Obama, now the president-candidate for his reelection, concerning April 24th.

Today, Turkey is stronger than 20 years ago. Why should it change its stance? Turkey has gained more and more influence in opening up to other powers that do not require him to examine his past," Minasian told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.
