Children protesting against President Aliyev in Azerbaijan

Sources say that 71 demonstrators, including a former member of parliament, were arrested in Azerbaijan’s capital Baku during a protest action on April 17. Besides, police officers without any explanation drove out dozens of families walking in a city park.

In one of Baku districts, police detained a woman with a 5-year-old child, who chanted “Freedom” and “Resignation.” 10 people were detained in another part of the city.

About hundred of people were blocked in one of the streets, Turan news agency reports.
