Armenia’s, UNIDO representatives discuss integration into EurAsEc common economic space

Armenian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Territorial Administration Armen Gevorgyan received a delegation of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization headed by Ranko Vujacic.

The delegation is in Armenia to present the results of Integration of Industrial Relations among the Countries of Eurasian Economic Community program implemented by UNIDO to the Armenian government, to participate in the Armenian-Russian interregional conference to be held on April 19 in Yerevan, as well as to get acquainted with the improvements implemented in the sphere of industry by the Armenian government and to discuss cooperation issues.

Gevorgyan said the Armenian government attaches importance to the program implemented by UNIDO. The program directions - industrial modernization, assistance to equal development of the territories - are among priorities of the Armenian government, he said.

The guests briefed Gevorgyan on directions of Integration of Economic Relations among the Countries of Eurasian Economic Community program and its results.

According to them, for the purpose of efficient implementation of the program in the member states, including Armenia, offices have been established and thematic groups have been created for basic directions of the program.

Currently, works are carried out in three basic directions - investment assistance, development of industrial space and transfer of technologies.

The program is aimed at assisting the industrial integration and process of formation of common economic space at the territory of EurAsEc through development of international industrial collaboration and creation of necessary terms for industrial modernization of member states.
