First Sukhoi Superjet 100 plane in Armenia named after Yuri Gagarin

On April 19, Zvartnots Yerevan airport hosted a ceremony of the transfer of the first Sukhoi Superjet 100 plane, named after the first cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin, to national Armenian air carrier, Armavia air company.

The USD 24 million plane was leased for the period of 8 years.

As Armavia president stated, 2 more Sukhoi Superjets, 2 airbuses and 2 Bombardier CRJs will be acquired before the yearned.

The new plane will perform flights to Russia and Ukraine, with the first flight to be performed on Yerevan-Moscow route.
