Armenia doesn’t have Ottoman Turkish language experts to study Turkish archives

National Archive of Armenia is open to all European, American and Turkish researchers, according to Archive director. As Amatuni Virabyan told a news conference in Yerevan, since 2000, only 2 Turkish historians have studied archive documents. Virabyan mentioned having been invited by his Turkish colleague to visit Turkish National Archive, yet, unfortunately, having no experts of Ottoman Turkish language, Armenia cannot benefit from the invitation.

As Virabyan stated, Armenian Archive stores over 10000 documents containing testimonies of Genocide survivors. The majority of archive documents will be available on internet by the year 2015.
