Draft law on Armenian Genocide recognition drawn up in Italy

Italian parliament hosted the presentation of the book Diaries authored by the last U.S. Ambassador to Ottoman Empire Henry Morgenthau, translated into Italian.

The head of Italy-Armenia parliamentary friendship group stressed the importance of the Genocide-related event organized in the parliament for the first time.

“We drew up a draft law on Italy’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide which will soon be submitted to the parliament,’ she said.

Also, a proposal to announce April 24 as the Armenian Genocide Victims Commemoration Day in Italy was submitted to Italian parliament ad Senate.
