Massis Yeterian, of Shorewood, Minnesota, a founding member of St. Sahag Armenian Church in St. Paul and the holder of St. Gregory Medal, the highest award of the Armenian Church, departed from this life on April 16.
Born in Baghdad, Iraq, Yeterian graduated from the Jesuit High School in Baghdad and received a B.S. degree from the College of St. Thomas in St. Paul, Minnesota. He received his master's degree from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and his Ph.D. in microbiology from the University of Minnesota. He taught in the Food Sciences Department of the University of Minnesota before he took a position as laboratory director at the General Foods headquarters in New York. Following his retirement from General Foods, he returned to the Twin Cities where he was involved in real estate investments.
A Requiem Service was held on April 20 at St. Sahag Armenian Church.
