Romania commemorates Armenian Genocide victims

Romania commemorated Armenian Genocide victims in a series of events hosting hundreds of Romania-residing Armenians, local officials, students, intellectual elite.

Bucharest’s Armenian Church hosted a liturgy for the innocent victims of 1915 tragedy, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony attended by representatives of the Roman Eparchy of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the Union of Armenians of Romania.

As the Armenian Ambassador to Romania noted at the ceremony, “the international community’s position on Armenian Genocide issue and the protest of democratic community will force Turkey into recognizing the Genocide."
