Kev Orkian to perform unique musical-meets-comedy show in South Africa

International comedian, Kev Orkian, is making his way to Emperors Palace this June to perform a unique musical-meets-comedy show in front of South African audiences. Orkian’s The Funniest Man in England will be performed in the Theatre of Marcellus from 8 to 11 June 2011, according to Media Update.

The talented comedian trained at Brunel University, West London, in drama and music and completed a two year National Diploma in Performing Arts. He made his West End debut as Joe Vegas in Fame and was in the original production of Happy Days the musical. Orkian starred in several other productions from Boogie Nights and The Fonz, to the concert tours of Grease and The Buddy Holly Story. Orkian was also part of the national tour of The Enchanted Toyshop, The Mischief – a one man show at the Edinburgh Festival

Orkian starred in numerous television and film credits abroad, including commercials for Kleenex, Bravo TV and Maxim Magazine. He is also a regular in pantomimes, playing comic roles in Cinderella, Snow White and Aladdin. Prior to appearing in musicals, he was a principal dancer with the Russian/Armenian dance troupe, and also a consummate pianist having performed in classical, blues and rock concerts around the globe.

Orkian has toured internationally, performing his One-Man Piano Comedy Show to sold-out audiences in Dubai, Oman, Lebanon and Canada. In addition, Orkian has twice hosted the American Music Awards and also won Best Stand-Up at the Ethnic Comedy Awards in Los Angeles earlier this year.
