“Velvet revolution” started, Armenian opposition says

Coordinator of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) Levon Zurabyan said that a “velvet revolution” has started in Armenia due to people’s efforts.

“ANC has become a factor, which cannot be disregarded, and the authorities now try to establish a dialogue, while ANC have stated about its necessity since March 2008,” Zurabyan told the April 28 opposition rally.

He noted that the Armenian authorities try to mislead the people, saying that the congress does not aspire towards the change of power.

“ANC programs remain unchanged - we demand organization of pre-term parliamentary and presidential elections,” concluded Zurabyan.
