Journalists banned access to Armenian Genocide commemoration in Tbilisi

On April 28, on the initiative of Free Georgia party and with support of the Assembly of Tbilisi Armenians, Tbilisi City Assembly (Sakrebulo) held a special session dedicated to the 96th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. The session was attended by members of the City Assembly, representatives of Armenian organizations of Tbilisi and diplomatic corps accredited to Georgia.

German director Eric Fridler’s "Aghet" documentary on the Genocide was screened.

Unfortunately, the head of staff of the City Assembly banned Georgian and foreign media representatives from attending the event. In this regard, a briefing will be organized tomorrow on April 29 the central entrance of Tbilisi City Assembly, the during which the special statement will be issued, reported the press service of the Assembly of Tbilisi Armenians.
