EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy, Mr. Stefan Fule voiced concerns over the killing of an Armenian soldier by Azerbaijani sniper at the line of contact between Nagorno Karabakh and Azeri armed forces on April 28.

Vazgen Bakhshyan, 19, was wounded in the head and died on the way to a military hospital.

“European Neighborhood can’t be safe if protracted conflicts in the region are not settled peacefully, on the basis of international law norms,” Mr. Fule told a press conference in Yerevan. “We support efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chairs for the conflict resolution based on non-use of force, territorial integrity and the right of nations to self-determination.”
