An official with the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) stressed that Iran's first nuclear power plant in the Southern port city of Bushehr complies with the latest safety rules and standards.

"Iran has regarded new security measures for Bushehr nuclear plant despite the fact that international safety standards have been predicted for Bushehr nuclear facility," Head of Iran's Nuclear Safety System Nasser Rastkhah said on Friday.

"Bushehr nuclear facility is different from those in Russia, since it obeys standards of both Russia and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and we have frequently called for Russia to certify safety of the nuclear power plant."

He also added the country is against providing atomic reactors for developing countries which lack scientific and nuclear research capability.

Earlier, Head of the AEOI Fereidoon Abbasi had also underscored that all Iranian nuclear installations in different parts of the country enjoy the necessary safety standards, FNA reported.
