EU will benefit from assistance to eastern neighbors

On May 16-18, the southern Polish city of Katowice is hosting the third European Economic Congress (EEC).

As the European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek stated at the conference opening, the EP seeks to fully involve Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia in the Eastern Partnership program.

“EU will benefit from assistance to its eastern neighbors as much as they will from the EU aid,” he noted.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, in turn, stressed the importance of “common Europe” concept, implying larger involvement of new states in the EU, AZE.az reported, citing foreign media publications.
