President of the European Parliament (EP) Jerzy Buzek said the EP will not recognize Nagorno Karabakh as an entity.

Responding to PanARMENIAN.Net reporter’s question whether the EP is going to establish ties with the NKR parliament, Buzek said: “We always speak about integrity of countries. But at the same time we cannot forget the needs of ordinary people, their right to travel and establishment of contacts, irrespective of the place of their residence. We should lend a helping hand and prevent wars. This is the EP’s policy.”

Besides, Buzek told a press conference in Yerevan that societies of all the parties, including Nagorno Karabakh, should be prepared to reach a comprehensive settlement of the conflict in future.

“You should not be concerned over it, since integration of the public opinion in a peaceful resolution of the conflict is essential and decisive for us,” concluded Buzek.
