Armenian GM Vigen Mirumian wins open championship in Czech Republic

Armenian GM Vigen Mirumian (Czech Republic) has scored 3 points out of 3 to gain leadership among 99 participants of the open chess championship held in Orlova, Czech Republic.

A round-robin women's tournament is also being held within the frameworks of the Orlova festival. Armenian WGM Evgeniya Doluhanova (Ukraine) has had three victories in the first rounds and is leading the table.

Armenian GM Tigran Kotanjian scored 7 points out of 9 to win 2nd place among the 68 participants of the open held in Beirut, Lebanon. Kotanjian fell half a point behind the winner, GM Alexei Barsov (Uzbekistan).

Several chess players from Armenian Diaspora also took part in the tournament. Rafi Djikerian (Palestine) scored 5,5 points, Jirair Oknayan (Lebanon) - 5, Danielle Bedrosian (Lebanon) - 3,5, Harak Kailabozian (Lebanon) - 2,5 points, armchess.am reported.
