Armenian parliament adopts amendments to Electoral Code

The Armenian parliament adopted a legislative package of amendments to the county’s Electoral Code with 75 votes “for” and 14 “against”.

While delivering a statement, Minister of Justice Hrayr Tovmasyan stressed that there was a long way to pass before rendering the amendments more accurate, which bent the government in favor of adopting them.

According to the head of the standing parliamentary committee for state and legal affairs Davit Harutyunyan, a number of technical amendments were introduced to improve the election atmosphere and increase public confidence.
