Senior fellow at the Institute of Oriental Studies at the Russian Academy of Sciences, Andrey Areshev said the 2010 events in Kyrgyzstan showed CSTO’s abilities and how it acts.
“Bilateral ties should be prioritized in CSTO, since they are more efficient,” Areshev told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter. “In case of a new war in Karabakh, Russia’s role will be positive. But Armenia and NKR are a common defense space, which will act consistently in case of Baku’s aggression attempts. And the Armenian side understands what should be done to prevent similar provocative acts in Karabakh,” he said.
