Armenian youth parliament starts work

Armenian youth parliament has launched its activity, with Armenian National Assembly hosing a mandate handing ceremony on June 1.

131 Armenian citizens aged 18-30 are affiliated with youth parliament. Armenian youth parliament was formed on the initiative of parliamentary speaker Hovik Abrahamyan to serve as a consultative body at the parliamentary committee for science, education, culture, youth and sports issues.

During the ceremony, the parliamentary speaker expressed hope for young MPs to continue traditions formed in legislative structure. “I hope you’ll be able to work in the atmosphere of tolerance, solidarity and pluralism regardless of positions you adhere to,” Abrahanyan stressed.
