Head of the RA National Assembly Standing Committee for Financial and Budgetary Affairs, member of the ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Gagik Minasyan said the authorities and ANC have many other topics to discuss besides early elections.
“In my opinion, the dialogue will continue in future and the parties will adopt a mutually acceptable and logical agenda. And this is the policy to which we will be adhered to hold parliamentary and presidential elections in accord with the law,” Minasyan told a press conference in Yerevan.
He added that if the dialogue between the authorities and opposition proceeds efficiently, the results of it will be seen soon through solution of problems the country faces.
As for the demand of ANC to hold pre-term elections, Minasyan said: “It is evident that something that is impracticable should not be offered, since there are not any objective grounds for it.”
He noted that the dialogue may lead to establishment of a situation in Armenia, when “there is tenseness between the authorities and opposition, but it does not result in clashes, it only assists the authorities to fulfill their functions.”
However, Minasyan noted that definitely some people in the Armenian National Congress will oppose to this policy.
