Speaker of Georgian parliament: U.S. should be informed of all developments in Georgia

Speaker of the Georgian parliament David Bakradze said the United States should be appropriately informed of all the developments in Georgia.

Commenting on the upcoming meeting between Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili and U.S. Vice President Joseph Biden in Rhome, Bakradze said the U.S. is the main international ally of Georgia, and many things in the country depend on its firm stance and support.

“First, this refers to the policy of non-recognition of South Ossetia and Abkhazia and prospects of the Georgian-Russian relations. Thus, it is important for us that the U.S. administration is adequately informed of all the developments in Georgia, the existing risks, our views and how we are going to continue the country’s development,” Gruzia Online quoted Bakradze as saying.

Biden and Saakashvili are scheduled to meet in Rhome on June 2, as part of events dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Italy’s unification
