Turkey has high expectations from Sargsyan- Aliev meeting in Kazan

Turkey looks for high results from Kazan meeting of the presidents, Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic stated.

“We are ready to make all efforts towards the settlement of Karabakh conflict. Ankara wants the decision to be made in Kazan on the conflict settlement. We express our gratitude to everyone, who supports this work, including Dmitry Medevedev. We are ready to make all efforts for the settlement of the conflict,” the Ambassador stated.

According to the Ambassador, Karabakh conflict had to be settled long ago, but the process drags on. “Patience in running thin as the time passes,” APA quoted him as saying.

The Presidents of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia – Serzh Sargsyan, Ilham Aliyev and Dmitry Medvedev - are slated to meet on June 5 in the Russian city of Kazan, the next in a series of trilateral meetings on the Karabakh conflict settlement.

There are certain expectations with respect to the meeting, taking into consideration the Deauville statement adopted by the leaders of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-chair countries, who said “the time has arrived for all the sides to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to take a decisive step towards a peaceful settlement. Further delay [in the settlement] would only call into question the commitment of the sides to reach an agreement.”
