Georgia reportedly won’t hinder Russia’s bid for the World Trade Organization (WTO). The country’s official decision will be confirmed at Tbilisi-Moscow talks, the date for which is being determined, according to Nezavisimaya Gazeta.

Free Georgia opposition movement head Kakha Kikava citing a “reliable source in the presidential administration” said that the decision “to renounce claims to Moscow was taken during Mikhel Saakashvili’s talks with U.S. Vice President Joe Biden in Rome.”

Russia’s WTO accession talks officially kicked off in March 2011, when Georgia demanded that its forces should participate in control of the Abkhazian and South Ossetian border sectors. Russia can’t join the WTO unless Georgia, already a member, gives consent among the other 152 member states.
