Armenia to make fist appearance at Prague Quadrennial 2011

Armenia will make its fist appearance at June 16-26 Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space (PQ2011).

As a stage artist, Armenian group supervisor at the event Nelly Barsegyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, Armenia will be represented in Countries and Regions section, with Wiping off the Dust of Memory theme. According to Ms. Barseghyan, at the event, Armenia will feature performance design of 4 Armenian plays: Ardaghion, The Book of Flowers ( by State Pantomime Theatre) and A Chair, Aregnazan (by Yerevan State Music Comedy Theatre) in an attempt to illustrate difference genres of Armenian art, stage history and promote development of modern Armenian theatre.

Lilit Stepanyan, a production designer at State Pantomime Theatre will be representing Armenia at the event along with Ms. Barseghyan.

Armenia’s participation in PQ 2011 was made possible through the assistance of Armenian Ministry of Culture.

Held once every four years in Prague, Czech Republic, the Prague Quadrennial of Performance Design and Space is a the world’s largest performance design event – a presentation of contemporary work in a variety of performance design disciplines and genres including costume, stage, lighting, sound design, and theatre architecture for dance, opera, drama, site-specific, multi-media performances, and performance art.
