In 2011, Armenia will host Fan Art and Touch Typing contests within the framework of 5th Cybersport Championship, a qualifier for World Cyber Games.
As the National Professional Cybersport League commitee chairman Edgar Sahakyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter, although Fan Art was not too popular this year, Touch Typing contest already lists 20 applicants. “The 3-stage contest is meant for girls only.”
The World Cyber Games (WCG) is an international e-sports event (or "Cyber Games Festival") operated by Korean company World Cyber Games Inc. and backed by Samsung and, since 2006, Microsoft. The World Cyber Games were set up in 2000 with the first festival being held in 2001. The festival is influenced by the Olympic Games with an athletes village for competitors and since 2004 a different host city every year.
